Hey, Folks.

I just came down for the first time this past meeting to meet everyone and wanted to say hello on here. I’ve been wargaming for 26 years now, and plan on wargaming until I die! It’s mostly been Warhammer Fantasy and occasionally 40k over the years, but I look forward to trying new games, especially historicals. I was a history major in college and am a complete nerd for all things historical.

At the moment I have a large Dwarf army for Age of Sigmar/Kings of War/Ninth Age/Warlords of Erewhon. And Chaos for 40k. Recently bought a Vikings army for Saga, and have a 6point warband now, but it’s unpainted.

I’m looking forward to coming down again in April to hopefully get a game in. Please let me know if there’s anything I need to do before hand, such as pay annual dues and so forth.

Thanks!
Joshua Austin

Welcome!

Sorry I missed the last meeting, but I'm planning to be at April's.

You're definitely in the right place for historicals! I've played in great games put on by Sam, Bill, and Ted.

I've also got 6 points of Vikings (12 if you count the unpainted Freyja's Wrath miniatures I got from the Bad Squiddo kickstarter), Welsh and Anglo-Danes, and 8 points of Normans, so if you're looking to play some Saga, I'm up for it.

If you want to try historical board gaming sometime and live near AC let me know.  I've not been to a meeting in a over a year, the past few have been on weekends that I was working and the next two as well and before that I was on a board gaming only kick.

Hi Joshua! Thanks for contacting us. Brian Hamilton has already responded with some information. Doors open at 11 a.m. with a club meeting at noon. We try to advertise featured games ahead of time via this forum. We are still trying to formalize it a bit more so folks can plan with some forehand certainty. Your first visit is free. Otherwise, the dues structure is as described in our forum home page preamble. I have just bought the Erehwon Rules Book and am sill deciding which army I would like to start building. Folks in our club have varied tastes and favorites, bug we slide towards military history the majority of the time. Although, Sci Fi, adventure, and some fantasy table top gaming are also played. We are looking forward to meeting you April 13th. Bring a friend, if you like!

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. I was bummed I couldn’t make any meetings this summer. Work picked up, and I was working 6 days a week, with only Sunday off, so it was pretty restrictive on my gaming time. But things are slow again, and I’m back to having Saturdays off, so I’m looking forward to finally coming down and joining the fun. I’ve been playing Warlords of Erehwon and Saga with Brian at Nerdvana on Sunday's lately, and absolutely love the games.

I’m thinking I might either try Welsh next for Saga, since my grandmother came to America from Tenby Wales, or perhaps expand into a new era for Saga, with a Age of Crusades army.

I look forward to coming down in January! Happy holidays everyone.

Josh,
You are in luck. Bill Perry is hosting an Erehwon game on January 11th. You have every reason to join us on that date!
